A gear selection position displaying device includes a path display portion ( 56 ) which displays a movement path of a gearshift lever, lever position display portions (circled portions of 51 c, 53 b, 53 c, 53 d and 55 b) which display the position of the gearshift lever, and gear range display portions ( 51 a, 52 a, 54 a and 55 a, and symbol imparted portions of 51 c, 53 b, 53 c, 53 d and 55 b) which display gear ranges which are selected at the gear selection positions, respectively. When a momentary area where the gearshift lever is automatically restored to a home position is selected, a display on the gear range display portions ( 52 a, 54 a) which corresponds to the momentary area so selected is deleted ( 52 b, 54 b), whereas a gear range corresponding to the selected momentary area is displayed ( 53 c, 53 d) on the gear range display portions ( 53 c, 53 d).
