A device for fixing a housing in the reception opening of a mounting wall e.g. a switch panel, in which the housing (1) can be pushed into the opening from the front side. The free end of a spring-strip section (11) facing the mounting wall, is provided with side flaps bent out of the plane of the first spring-strip section so that their free ends themselves or the side-flaps rest under pre-tensioned on the edges of the receptacle opening, in the installed condition.
