An electric parking brake system is provided to operate the electric parking brake system stably by organically and actively interlocking a motor generating driving force, a deceleration gear unit transmitting driving force and a screw-nut unit converting rotation into linear motion. An electric parking brake system includes parking cables(41,42) connected to brakes applying braking force to wheels of a vehicle to operate the brakes, a motor(110) generating driving force for operating the parking cables, a driving gear(121) rotating by the motor, a first deceleration gear(131) engaged with the driving gear, a second deceleration gear(133) transmitting power to a connection shaft(132) combined with the first deceleration gear, an input gear(141) engaged with the second deceleration gear, a first nut(142) inserted to a center of the input gear, a first screw(143) thread-connected to the first nut for linear motion, a second screw(144) integrally combined with the first nut, and a second nut(145) thread-connected to the second screw for linear motion. The parking cables are connected to ends of the first and second screws. The second deceleration gear is linearly moved on the connection shaft, and a load sensor(150) is mounted between the first screw and the parking cable or between the second nut and the parking cable. |
