A light projection device projects lights having a predetermined frequency range toward the fruits and vegetables. A light reception device(120) receives the lights having the predetermined frequency range. A signal processing circuit includes a plurality of amplifying circuits having different amplifying ratio according to each electric signals for converting the electric signal into intensity data and a selection circuit for selecting the amplified intensity data within a predetermined range among a plurality of intensity data.
