SHAPE VARIABLE MIRROR AND OPTICAL PICKUP APPARATUS PROVIDED WITH SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape variable mirror wherein aberration can be compensated without receiving influence of distortion generated on a mirror surface and a variation region of the mirror can be enlarged in the shape variable mirror whose mirror surface is deformed.

SOLUTION: In the shape variable mirror 1 whose mirror surface is deformed, piezoelectric elements 4 are disposed out of the range where the mirror surface of a mirror part 3 is irradiated with a light beam. Fixing parts 5 joined to the mirror part 3 are disposed outside the piezoelectric elements 4. Each piezoelectric element and each fixing part 5 are disposed near to each other and the fixing parts 5 fixing the mirror part 3 are joined to end parts of the mirror part 3.
