<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a color filter which can form a high-accuracy pattern, prevent color mixture and realize reduction in thickness. <P>SOLUTION: A filter separation layer 50F is formed, in advance, and the color filter material of a corresponding color is formed, while forming an opening on each color forming region and flattening is executed, and thus, a color filter in which color sections are defined with high accuracy can be formed.
