PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing material for a thermal stencil which is substantially formed of only a film without using a porous tissue paper and is almost free from shrinkage or distortion by heat around a perforated spot under the thermal effect of a thermal head. SOLUTION: In this printing material for a thermal stencil, fine recessed parts 3a are formed on one of the sides of a thermoplastic synthetic resin film 2, while a layer 5 made of fine particles with not more than 3μm average particle diameter is formed on the other side. In addition, the thermoplastic synthetic resin film 2 is characteristic in that the coefficient of heat shrinkage at 150°C is 10 to 35% and the thickness is 5 to 15μm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
