The basket installation (1) has carrier linkages (3) that hold a basketball basket, and that can be adjusted between operating position and outer operating position. A locking mechanism (6), comprising of flexibly joined and coupled locking levers (7,8), is used to lock the linkages in operating position. The linkages are arranged in an over dead center position with respect to the basketball board. The locking levers are loaded by their dead weight into the over dead center position. The locking levers are coupled together at a V-point with the use of a connecting joint (9).
