#CMT# #/CMT# The device has an opening key (16), which works together with a locking latch (11) over a transfer unit (9). The latch engages a closing bracket in a closing position, and deflecting guides (29-31) are provided in the transfer unit. The opening key stays in engagement with a slider (18), which is connected with the transfer unit. The slider is adjustable into a position lying outside of the engagement with the opening key, during an impact, which acts on the vehicle. The slider and the transfer unit are made from plastic. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for a pivotable cover (claimed) of an oddments tray e.g. glove box, in an instrument panel of a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The slider is adjustable into the position lying outside of the engagement with the opening key, during an impact, which acts on the vehicle, thus preventing unwanted opening of the cover during a frontal crash of the vehicle.
