A backlight assembly is provided to use no lamp holder, thereby saving the manufacturing cost, by inserting the bending portions of U-shaped lamps into the openings of a supporter side to fix the U-shaped lamps to the support side. A backlight assembly comprises upper and lower frames(251,252). A plurality of U-shaped lamps(210) are uniformly arranged in an inner space formed by the upper and lower assembly. A supporter side(230) is configured to fix the bending portions of the plurality of U-shaped lamps. A plurality of openings(232) are formed on the front surface of the support side correspondingly to the bending portions of the plurality of U-shaped lamps. |
