A wireless receiver comprising an antenna (1) for receiving a radio signal in which a transmitted signal has been superimposed on a carrier; a frequency multiplier (3) plus VCXO (2) for oscillating a local oscillation signal; and a demodulating circuit for demodulating, based on the radio signal and local oscillation signal, the transmitted signal; wherein an oscillation frequency control circuit is provided which repetitively sweeps the frequency of the local oscillation signal by use of a frequency bandwidth that is equal to or greater than the frequency drift width of the carrier frequency from the antenna (1) or by use of a frequency bandwidth that is equal to or greater than the frequency drift width of the local oscillation signal.
