<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image in such a way that changes with time of living cells included in observation images can be easily observed. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 1 includes; a feature quantity calculation means which detects cell image areas corresponding to living cells from a series of observation images including the living cells which are imaged at a plurality of observation points of time, and calculates cell feature quantities showing features of respective detected cell image areas; a feature quantity storage means wherein the cell feature quantities calculated by the feature quantity calculation means are stored in association with the observation points of time; a feature image generation means which generates cell feature images obtained by imaging the cell feature quantities calculated by the feature quantity calculation means per observation point of time; an associating means which calculates variations in cell feature quantity among observation images and determines whether living cells included in respective observation images are identical or not on the basis of the calculated variations and associates living cells determined to be identical; and an image display control means which performs control to image and display cell feature quantities corresponding to different observation points of time as one display image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
