PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a changing-over time of fiber cords which are traveling toward a processing or treating device, such as a dipping device, to prevent waste of a material or the like from forming, and to improve productivity of processed or treated cords. SOLUTION: In a method for knotting the fiber cords, front end parts of next cords 5b which are next supplied to a dipping device 1 are arranged in parallel to presently supplied cords 5a which are presently supplied to the dipping device 1 on an upper surface of the movable carriage 8 positioned over the presently supplied cords 5a. When rear end parts of the presently supplied cords 5a reach predetermined positions near an automatic knotting means 7, an accumulator 4 composed of fixed pulleys 4a and movable pulleys 4b is actuated and the rear end parts are suspended by utilizing drawing-out of the presently supplied cords 5a brought about by raising the movable pulleys 4b and then shortening courses of the presently supplied cords 5a. During that time, the front end parts and the rear end parts of the fiber cords 5 are overlapped each other, by moving the movable carriage 8 toward a downstream side, and then automatically knotted by the automatic knotting means 7.
