<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for molding rice balls enabling efficient production of rice balls each having a handmade-like appearance, proper firmness so as to be hard to lose shape, and dried palate feeling so as to easily get loose when put in the mouth. <P>SOLUTION: The device for molding rice balls 10 is provided with the following: a multistage nipping/pressing mechanism having a plurality of first molding frames each nipping and pressing a prescribed amount of cooked rice mass and a plurality of second molding frames each nipping and pressing again the cooked rice mass nipped and pressed by the first molding frame; and a molding frame reciprocation mechanism making the respective molding frames in the multistage nipping/pressing mechanism get forward in synchronization with the position of the molding frame adjacent thereto to move the cooked rice mass nipped and pressed to be held in the molding frame to the position of the next molding frame, and getting back the empty molding frame from which the cooked rice ball is discharged to the original position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
