<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushless electric motor and its drive control device, adapted to suppress electric current fluctuations, torque fluctuations and the generation of noise in the brushless electric motor, and capable of configuring a motor-driven power-steering apparatus having low noise and a proper sense for steering. <P>SOLUTION: In a drive control device of a brushless electric motor, having relative current change controlling means for controlling relative current change during rectification, as well as, having a plurality of excitation phases, the relative current change control means causes a transient time of commutation that is a time during which phase current is in transient state in a commutating operation to terminate within half the commutation interval, that is the time required, beginning from the starting time of a certain stage of commutation, to the starting time of the next commutation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
