PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic paper which prevents information displayed on the electronic paper from leaking and also prevents itself from being carried out. SOLUTION: This electronic paper 1A comprises a thin rectangular primary electronic paper body 2 and a cartridge 5A which is detachably provided to the primary electronic paper body 2 and has a power source portion and a memory portion. Once the cartridge 5A is detached from the primary electronic paper body 2, no power is supplied to a control section 4, a display portion 3 becomes incapable of display, and the cartridge 5A having the memory portion 54 is collected, so secret information on the electronic paper 1A can be prevented from being carried out.
