PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium which allows a drive device to surely detect a tape end of a magnetic tape wound around a tape reel. SOLUTION: The information recording medium includes; the tape reel; a case body 3 which has a window part 23 allowing detection light for tape end detection to impinge thereon and a window part 34 allowing detection light to be emitted and has the tape reel stored therein; a front cover 7 opening and closing a drawing hole 3a of the case body 3; a main body part 41 disposed slidably in directions of going to and away from the tape reel; and a reel brake 4 having an arm 42 which is moved between window parts 23 and 34 in accordance with turning of the front cover 7, to slide the main body part 41. The case body 3 has ribs 24 and 35 which are disposed on side walls 22d, 22e, 32d, and 32e in vicinities of window parts 23 and 34 and control the vertical deflection of the arm 42.
