PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damaging of a sheet-like article and a cam jump in a sheet-like article pressing device. SOLUTION: When a cam follower 25 is abutted on a small diameter part 27a, a sheet pressing member 18 is positioned at a sheet pressing position, and when the cam follower 25 is abutted on a large diameter part 27b, the sheet pressing member 18 is moved to a retracting position from the sheet pressing position. An energizing means for energizing a lever 22 is composed of: a shaft 30 with its both ends slidably supported by a spring seat 9, and a spring seat 28 provided on the lever 22; and first and second compression coil springs 31 and 32. The first compression coil spring 31 is compressed between the spring seat 28 and a shaft 31, and the second compression coil spring 32 is compressed between the spring seat 9 and a shaft 30.
