PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which prevents as far as possible overwriting of a white balance preset value for fluorescent observation stored in a memory means of the endoscope. SOLUTION: The endoscope 2 has a memory 16 for storing rewritably a white balance preset value for fluorescent observation and a white value preset value for observation other than fluorescent observation. The endoscope further has a CPU 17 for receiving the white balance preset value for fluorescent observation and the white balance preset value for observation other than fluorescent observation. The white balance preset value for fluorescent observation and the white balance preset value for observation other than fluorescent observation which are received by the CPU 17 are stored in different storing regions 16b and 16c of the memory 16 respectively for several times.
