A mobile terminal having a sound magnifying function is provided to be used as a megaphone or a speaker by magnifying a sound to above a certain output level and to magnify an inputted sound to above a certain output level. An input unit(100) receives a sound from the exterior. A controller(120) determines whether to magnify the inputted sound. A sound magnifying unit(110) magnifies the inputted sound according to a control signal of the controller(120). A sound output unit(130) outputs the magnified sound.
