<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for forming an image which can form at a low temperature and a high speed the image approximating to printed matter and having a high image quality that is demanded for preparation of a color proof of offset printing, color on-demand printing or the like, while maintaining blocking resistance. <P>SOLUTION: After ink droplets are made to fly and the image is recorded on a recording medium, in the method and apparatus for forming the image, the image is fixed by bringing a heated fixing member into contact with the image. The ink droplet consists of an ink composition which contains a dispersing medium and particles including a coloring material and a covering polymer thereof. At the heating temperature of the fixing member, the dynamic modulus of elasticity of the covering polymer is lower than the static modulus of elasticity of a surface layer of the fixing member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
