<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine suppressing deterioration of emission occurring before a catalyst is warmed up and efficiently performing failure diagnosis of a waste gate valve. <P>SOLUTION: The control device for the internal combustion engine performs warming up of the catalyst. An ignition timing control means sets ignition timing at a first ignition timing at a time of cold start. A waste gate valve control means sets the waste gate valve to close when the ignition timing is not retarded than the first ignition timing and controls opening of the waste gate valve when ignition timing is set to the first ignition timing. When the ignition timing is set to the first ignition timing, emission is not deteriorated even if the waste gate valve opens. Opening of the waste gate valve is controlled to maintain rotation speed of the internal combustion engine to a target rotation speed, and supercharging pressure by a turbocharger can be maintained at fixed pressure, and the catalyst is effectively warmed up by supplying heat of exhaust gas to the catalyst. Consequently, warming up of the catalyst is appropriately performed with suppressing deterioration of emission. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
