PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately calibrate a shutter of a digital image pickup device. SOLUTION: A shutter of a digital image pickup device can be calibrated by comparing characteristics of two different exposures resulting from one field of an imaging sensor of the digital image pickup device during a single exposure cycle.
