PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch display patterns and to suppress a flicker of display in switching while reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: A drive control section 6 is provided which performs drive control over segment electrodes 4a to 4e, and the drive control section 6 performs the drive control by the segment electrodes 4a to 4e. Then the segment electrodes 4a to 4e are brought under the drive control so that segments where display is switched may be rewritten, while segments where display is not switched are disallowed to be reset.
