PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling method for a film heating type/pressure roller driving type image heating device which uses a helical gear 24 to drive a pressure roller 20 that can prevent a film 33 from being damaged when the helical gear is driven depending upon directions wherein the film and pressure roller have plays to shift when assembled without spoiling assembling performance. SOLUTION: A frame is prepared which is formed in such a shape that a side plate 4R on a pressure roller abutting side which restricts a thrust movement of the pressure roller when the helical gear is driven is initially and obliquely tilted inward from its regular position. The pressure roller and a rotary body unit are assembled between the side plate on the pressure roller abutting side and a side plate 4L on a non-abutting side and a sub-frame 2 is fitted between the side plate on the pressure roller abutting side and the side plate on the non-abutting side against the bending strength of a support part of the side plate 4R on the pressure roller abutting side to correct the side plate to the regular posture position.
