A method for implementing a jog dial function using a keypad of a mobile terminal is provided to perform a jog dial function without additionally mounting a jog dial component in a mobile terminal. Inputting of a jog dial function select signal from a user is awaited while a music file is being reproduced in a mobile terminal(10). When a jog dial function select signal is inputted by the user, inputting of a direction key of the user is awaited(20), and it is checked whether a direction key input signal is successively inputted(30). When direction keys are successively inputted, it is checked whether a combination of the successively inputted keys is in a clockwise direction(40). When the combination of the successively inputted keys are in the clockwise direction, a jog dial function in the clockwise direction is performed(50). If the combination of the successively inputted keys are not in the clockwise direction, a jog dial function in a counterclockwise direction is operated(60).
