<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document conversion device capable of easily converting a plurality of pieces of document image data into an electronic document having contents data inside a limited storage resource even if the storage resource inside equipment is limited. <P>SOLUTION: An MFP 5 extracts a character area from the document image data, and decides a title part from the extracted character area. The document image data are converted into document data of a page unit, and are transmitted to a client PC 3. The contents data are created on the basis of a page number and position information of the decided title part, and are transmitted to the client PC 3.
