PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and rational design structure of a fluid pressure cylinder without mounting a special conductive member as a conductor for current feedback, in the fluid pressure cylinder with a position detector detecting an operating position of a piston by using a magnetostrictive position detector. SOLUTION: In this fluid pressure cylinder comprising the magnetostrictive position detector having a permanent magnet 18 mounted on the piston 4, and a magnetostrictive wire 19 stored in a hollow portion 20 of a cylinder tube 3, the cylinder tube 3 is composed of a non-magnetic conductive material, the magnetostrictive wire 19 composed of a ferromagnetic material is inserted into the hollow portion 20, and a tip portion of the magnetostrictive wire 19 is electrically connected with the cylinder tube 3 through a support fitting 21 to use the cylinder tube 3 also as the conductor for current feedback.
