PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve optimizing injection direction even if the same is arranged near an intake valve in an upstream thereof. SOLUTION: The fuel injection valve is provided with a valve body 11 including a valve seat 13 and having opening 24 which fuel passes through formed in a downstream side, a valve member 12 stored in the valve body 11 permitting fuel injection by separating from the valve seat 13 and shutting off fuel injection by being seated on the valve seat 13, and a plate 23 blocking the opening 24 with overlapping with the valve body 11 from the downstream side and being elastically deformed by fuel pressure when the valve member 12 separates. A gap is created between the valve body 11 and the plate 23 by elastic deformation of the plate 23 and fuel is injected from the gap. Since fuel can be injected at angles roughly perpendicular to a valve stem, spray does not directly impinge on a part close to a center of the intake valve easily even if an injection hole is put close to the intake valve.
