As a method of promoting natural HDR and curing disc herniation an apparatus is provided for shortening the time period of HDR, by ultrasonic irradiation. The apparatus is equipped with at least one ultrasonic transducer, an ultrasonic oscillator and mount means for mounting the ultrasonic transducer to an bone joint site, and is means for irradiating ultrasonic waves of 1.3 to 2 MHz in frequency, 100 to 1,000 Hz in repetition frequency, 10 to 2000 mus in burst width and 100 mW/cm² or less in power (SATA: Spatial Average-Temporal Average).
