HINGE UNIT AND DOOR SYSTEM USING THE HINGE UNIT

A hinge unit, wherein two panel bodies of rectangular parallelepiped plate shape are abutted on each other along the longitudinal direction with their side end faces in a direction orthogonal to the plate surface direction of the panel bodies aligned with each other and connected to each other so as to be rotated relative to each other to form a door system. The hinge unit comprises two bar-like strut bodies fitted to the side end faces of the two panel bodies, four sets of spur gears fixed to the axial upper and lower end faces of the two strut bodies with their rotating center axes aligned with the center axis of the panel bodies passing the center of the panel bodies in the plate thickness direction, and connection bodies connecting the two pairs of assembled bodies formed of the strut bodies and the spur gears rotatably to each other from the opposite side of the strut bodies with the pair of opposed spur gears among the four sets of spur gears meshed with each other at the upper and lower end faces. The hinge unit is characterized in that each of the four sets of spur gears is formed by laying a metal spur gear on a resin spur gear. Thus, the hinge unit capable of supporting even a large-sized and heavy door without generating noise can be provided by a simple structure.
