#CMT# #/CMT# Turf is laid by a method comprising the following steps: (A) providing strips of turf; (B) providing a support with a slanting plate (11); (C) using a crane (2) to pick up a row of sods and set it down in a first height position on the plate and then pick up a second row of sods and set it down in a second height position higher up than the first position so that the two rows of sods partly overlap; (D) repeating step (b) for one or more rows of sods; (E) using a crane to pick up two or more overlapping sods from the plate; and (F) setting the overlapping sods on the slope. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for the turf laying system, comprising a support with a sloping plate, a first crane with a grab unit (4) for picking up the rows of sods and a second crane with a grab unit for picking up the overlapping rows of sods.
