SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH ARTICULATION SHAFT WITH DOUBLE PIVOT CLOSURE AND SINGLE PIVOT FRAME GROUND

A surgical instrument with an articulation shaft comprising a double pivoting closure and a single pivoting frame ground is provided to obtain additional clinical flexibility setting the position of an end effector, by using a proximal part operated from the outside. An elongate shaft(16) includes a frame assembly and a closure sleeve assembly. An end effector includes a lower jaw and a pivot type attached upper jaw. An articulating joint attaches the lower jaw of the end effector to a distal end part of the frame assembly by a pivoting method. A handle part(22) is attached to a proximal end part of the elongate shaft, and operates to couple a closure movement to the closure sleeve assembly longitudinally. A multiple pivot joint of the closure sleeve assembly surrounds the articulating joint, and is connected to the distal part of the upper jaw in order to influence on the pivot movement of the upper jaw.
