A method for reproducing broadcast information in a mobile terminal and the mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to easily inform a caller about his/her call unavailable situation without incurring a service usage fee. A storage unit(190) stores at least one broadcast information. A controller(120) receives media setting information for reproducing the broadcast information and sets an operation mode as a media mode. according to a request for setting the media mode inputted by a user, and when a call is received, the controller(120) transmits corresponding broadcast information among broadcast information stored in the storage unit(190) based on the media setting information.
