<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image on a paper surface even on the occurrence of an underrun depending on a printing image and the capacity of a host computer or that of an interface. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises: a split-transfer right-or-wrong selecting means; a number-of-split-transfers selecting means; a printing image regenerating means for regenerating a plurality of printing images by splitting original printing image data into the selected number of transfers; a leading margin computing means for computing a leading margin for each of the printing images; a blank page generating means; a transfer control means for alternately transferring each of the plurality of regenerated printing images and generated blank page; and a paper feed/output control means for controlling normal paper feed/output and the paper feed/output of a double-sided unit, depending on data to be transferred. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
