PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact servo amplifier with satisfactory cost performance and current responsiveness by one power source and one linear amplifier. SOLUTION: In this servo amplifier connected to a main circuit equipped with a DC power source and a linear amplifier and a current detector for controlling the currents of a load by a current control unit, the main circuit is provided with a DC power source PS with a single output, one bi-polar linear amplifier 1 with the DC power source as a power source, two semiconductor power switching elements T<SB>P</SB>and T<SB>N</SB>serially connected between the positive pole and negative pole of the DC power source with the single output and a current detector 21 for detecting currents flowing through a load 2 connected between the intermediate point of the two semiconductor power switching elements and the output of the bi-polar linear amplifier.
