PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical scanner in which the bend and the tilt of a scanning line are always stably and accurately corrected independent of the pitch and direction of waviness of the scanning line generated by the accumulation of the form accuracy and the positional accuracy of an optical element. SOLUTION: The optical scanner of the present invention is provided, as a correction mechanism of the bend of scanning line, with: a form keeping means which is composed of two flat plates 23 and 26 and space keeping members 24 and 25, and pinches and holds the both faces in a subscanning direction of the optical element L; and a correction means 19 for the bend of the scanning line furnished on the form keeping means. The optical scanner is further provided with a correction means for the tilt of the scanning line which corrects the tilt of the scanning line by turning or rocking the form keeping means as a unit around a turning axis (roller 30) furnished substantially in the vicinity of the optical axis of the form keeping means by the drive of a stepping motor 35. Thus, the bend and the tilt of the scanning line due to the accumulated error of the form accuracy and the positional accuracy of the optical element L are accurately corrected by an initial adjustment.
