An extended release pharmaceutical composition in solid dosage form is provided comprising one or more mini-tablets comprising a therapeutically effective amount of venlafaxine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and an extended release coating associated therewith, wherein the mini-tablet provides an immediate release of venlafaxine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and the extended release coating provides an extended release of venlafaxine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
