<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure consistencies of features extracted from each of images different in size. <P>SOLUTION: When a size of an image intended for extracting its features is same as that of a monitor screen, the features are extracted directly from images fed. When the image intended for extracting its features is one appended with a letter box due to a difference in size from the size of the monitor screen, the image of the same size as that of the monitor screen is produced and its features are extracted with the produced image targeted.
