摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of phenomenon that the image quality is deteriorated by eye movement in a scanning type image display apparatus in which one image is recognized by scanning two or more scanning regions with a plurality of light sources. SOLUTION: The scanning type picture display apparatus has a scanning means 102 which sans luminous fluxes from a plurality of light sources 101a to 101d in two-dimensional directions. The scanning means scans two or more scanning regions 103a to 103d lined up in a first direction in a range 103 corresponding to one screen with luminous fluxes from light sources different from each other, and scans with the luminous fluxes at a first velocity in the first direction 104 and at a second velocity higher than the first velocity in a second direction 105 different from the first direction in the respective scanning regions in the respective scanning regions. A following relation is satisfied: FR≥(ω×Z)/(α×Fov), where FR is the scanning frequency in the first direction,ωis the angular velocity of the eye movement by a saccade, Z is the number of scanning regions lined up in the first direction,αis a constant regarding the actual luminous flux scanning time in a scanning period in the first direction, and Fov is a total view angle in the first direction.
