PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To survey a rail track central line of an objective line to be measured at a largely low cost compared with aerial photogrammetry without closing a rail track. SOLUTION: By repeatedly driving a train 11 with a GPS surveying equipment 10 on an orbit 12 of an objective line to be surveyed, position data is recorded every fixed time (e.g., an interval of one second) by the GPS surveying equipment 10 during driving. A number of position data obtained is statistically analyzed by a computer 13 and the rail track central line is determined. The rail track central line is drawn in a plane rectangular coordinate system and a "plain view for track" of a sign 14 illustrated in Fig. 1 is prepared. Based on an orbital curve table related to a curve of the objective line to be surveyed, a distance expressed in kilometers and a radius of a curve indicating a curve starting position and an ending position of an estimated line curve section are specified, and a sector shape determined from the specified distance expressed in kilometers and the radius of a curve are combined with an intersection to determine a rail track curvilinear section.
