PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed-position type wedge chucking device for providing a normal test result at all times. SOLUTION: In this fixed-position type wedge chucking device, a support plate 6 is provided at a free end of an axially fixed shaft 5 for supporting a pair of claws 1 and 1 openably/closably for receiving the support plate 6 on support recess parts 2 and 2 confronting the pair of claws 1 and 1. A pressure-receiving plate 7 is fixed at an intermediate position of the shaft 5, while a pair of holders 12 and 12 for performing opening/closing operation for the pair of claws 1 and 1 are provided on a cylinder 11 for receiving the receiving plate 7 therein with the shaft 5 penetrated therethrough. A fluid pressure is switchedly supplied to cylinder chambers 8 and 9, to actuate the holders 12 and 12 in the axial direction of the shaft 5, openingly/closingly actuating the pair of claws 1 and 1, without displacing them in the axial direction of the shaft 5. The back surfaces of the pair of claws 1 and 1 are formed into inclined planes that narrow going toward the cylinder 11 to incline inner surfaces of the holders 12 and 12, in matching with the inclination of the back surfaces of the claws 1 and 1, and the holders 12 and 12 are moved toward the heads of the claws 1 and 1 so as to close the claws 1 and 1.
