PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a teaching method of an edge sensor and the edge sensor which can simply and easily judge whether or not the edge to be detected is on the specific position. SOLUTION: When the object to be detected is moved between a line sensor 1 and a point light source 2a, the maximum and the minimum of the edge position on the line sensor 1 are taught as the maximum value and the minimum value of analog output, respectively.
