PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop device for a door closer, which functions as the door closer equipped with the stop device during construction of a building, and functions as the door closer without a function of the stop device after completion of construction of the building by performing simple operation on the stop device. SOLUTION: The stop device for the door closer is formed of a stopper member which is coupled with one of a pair of door closer members rotatably connected together along a predetermined rotation axis, and a means for engaging with the stopper member when a door opening reaches predetermined degrees and inhibiting the stopper member from moving in a door closing direction. The stop device for the door closer is comprised of an engaging member for engaging with the stopper member, and an energizing means which has one end thereof abutting on the engaging member and allows a holding means to be attached to the other end thereof. The holding means retains energizing force. Thus by releasing the holding means, engagement between the stopper member and the engaging member is released. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
