PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing-out apparatus with a rewritable function which can save the labor of re-printout working due to copying by mistake. SOLUTION: A printer 1 has a rewritable mode for repeating a color-quenching and -development of a rewritable paper and a regular paper mode for performing a print processing for the regular paper. The printer is equipped with a thermal head 2 for making a paper P which has been fed from a paper-feeding cassette 220 colored when a mode changeover switch for changing both modes is changed to the rewritable mode and a sensor 3 for detecting the coloring state of the paper P heated by the thermal head 2. Based on the signal detected by the sensor 3, it is judged whether the paper P is a rewritable paper P2. If the paper P is judged not to be the rewritable paper P2, the paper feeding from the paper-feeding cassette 220 is repeated while discharging the paper P to a paper-discharging tray 111.
