A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING STAINLESS STEEL TO REDUCE CR2O3 IN THE SLAG

A 400 series stainless steel manufacturing method for improving recovery ratio of Cr by reducing Cr2O3 by controlling basicity, silicon content and oxygen basic unit is provided. In a 400 series stainless steel manufacturing method for reducing Cr2O3 of electric furnace slag comprises controlling the basicity of slag to a range of 1.2 to 1.4 and controlling content of Si to be charged to a range of 1.2 to 1.4 wt.%, thereby reducing Cr2O3 contained in the slag. The 400 series stainless steel manufacturing method comprises controlling oxygen basic unit(Nm^3/T) to a range of 8 to 12.
