A pointing device and a key sheet for the same are provided to prevent input error and operation error, by performing direction input and confirmation input. In a key sheet(15) for a pointing device, a base sheet(14) has a pressing tip(14b) on a back at an opposite position of a contact switch(Pi,Po) formed on a substrate(P), and is composed of a rubber type elastic member having a keytop(12). A magnet(13) is installed on the base sheet. The pressing tip has displacement toward the substrate by a pushing operation of the keytop, and presses the contact switch formed on the substrate. The magnet moves toward the side by elastic deformation of the base sheet accompanied in the side movement operation of the keytop, and changes magnetic flux density of a magnetic sensor(16) installed on the substrate. An accommodation part(17) of the magnet is formed on the back of the base sheet. The accommodation part contacts with the substrate during the push operation of the keytop, and then presses the contact switch using the pressing tip.
