A mobile terminal having an indication function and an indication function operating method are provided to promote a value of a mobile terminal by preventing an injury to the user's or someone else's eyes although the user operates an indicator by accident. A mobile terminal body(11) includes a keypad(111) and a display(113). An external antenna(12) is provided at the mobile terminal body(11). An indicator(13) includes a light emitting unit(131) provided in the external antenna(12) and a control circuit(133) provided in the mobile terminal body(11). An indication enabling device(14) is provided at the mobile terminal body(11), electrically connected with the control circuit(133), and is operated to drive the control circuit(133) to control the light emitting unit(131) to emit a beam. The display(113) indicates a user interface, and the keypad(111) is controlled through the user interface to drive the indicator(13).
