FIELD: chemistry of polymers, chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of high-molecular water-soluble polymers used as flocculants. Invention proposes a method for synthesis of a high-molecular (meth)acrylic anionic flocculant that involves the copolymerization reaction of anionic water-soluble monomer comprising a double bond with non-ionic monomer comprising a double bond. As an anionic water-soluble monomer with a double bond the method involves using (meth)acrylic acid salt with the residual content of (meth)acrylic acid 0.1-10% and as non-ionic monomer with a double bond the method involves using (meth)acrylic acids amide and ester in the ratio anionic water-soluble monomer : (meth)acrylic acids amide : ester = 100:10:(1-6) or 100:(1-6):10, respectively. As (meth)acrylic acid salt the method involves using alkaline metal salts, and as (meth)acrylic acids ester the methods involves using methyl or ethyl ester. Method provides preparing high-molecular (meth)acrylic anionic flocculant as a powder with the content of the main substance near 100% that shows good solubility in water and high effectiveness in purifying different dispersed systems, among them, alkaline flow with pH value > 10.
