The rotor has a spindle (11) with a central portion (19) having a bore (21) for mounting the spindle on a shaft (9), and an annular radial web (23) surrounding the portion. A rim (13) surrounds the spindle, and a laminated assembly (15) surrounds the rim. Permanent magnets (17) are distributed on outer circumference of the assembly. The rim permits passage of magnetic flux of electromagnetic field between the magnets. An independent claim is also included for an electric motor. |
